ah man, what a bummer. george harrison died today. i'm glad he was around as long as he was though. unlike elvis and buddy holly, i've been able to live with three beatles most of my life. rest easy george.

If you want to see something funny, go check out this site Phonebashing.com. one more reason i refuse to get a cell phone. got the link from assembly required.

happy thanksgiving to everyone.

well the mall show wasn't exactly what we expected it to be but we made the most of it. we all crammed onto this really tall and tiny stage so that was kinda cool. it was just like that gigantic riser ringo used to play on. except imagine john and paul up there too. the only bad part of the night was that it cost $25 to get it. ouch! big ups to the people that did come and i think i know who the lux-fan of the fortnight was. we managed to get our publicist, art director, video director, stylist and accountant into the show though. he ha he ha. the booking agent had no trouble sneaking in and our manager might have topped the donation list for the night. we wore the green uniforms and tiffany was the artist we covered. the cher cover got the most people up on the dance floor. enola gay was surprisingly danceable. we hope to have some picts and possible video up soon.

i almost hate to let you guys in on my secret but, i think i've found my new favorite breakfast food. kroger brand unfrosted cinnamon and sugar-topped apple pop tarts. if you don't toast them too long they taste just like apple pie. warm, soft, and flakey. too good. i'm not joking either.

and it's not like the time our r.a. camp guide told me and craig that apple sauce and saltines tasted like apple pie. oh yea, r.a.'s (royal ambassadors) are like boy scouts in the southern baptist church. while i'm talking about that 4th grade camp trip, i'll go ahead and mention that craig and i won the 4th-6th grade b.b. gun competition. the older guys were really mad. and yes, craig was the reason we won.

back to the topic of breakfast. i haven't eaten breakfast since like 1994. andrea is always urging me to eat it but i never do. well i started about two months ago and it's been pretty nice. i'm not starving at lunch anymore and i don't have to eat eight thousand cookies to satisfy my hunger. maybe people are right about it being the most important meal of the day?

tonight we rock. larry is working on the set list. i'm at work right now in my green courds. ready to ROCK at a moments notice. i'm planning on trying to get some free video game credits from the folks at jillians.

rough game last night. our boys almost pulled it off though. not that i was really watching the whole time. i love it when i turn on the t.v. and end up catching the most exciting ten minutes of a three hour game.

lux practice last night was... loose. we tried to remember about twenty songs. i think we'll do fifteen or so at the gig tomorrow. we even spent two minutes goofing with a possible mall cover song. i told the guys to just be ready in case the spirit leads.

Monday, November 12

God made fried chicken has been taken over by high school chums. please feel free to use this page until the storm calms.

in other news, i just heard about the NYC crash. dang it. we can't catch a break. hope it wasn't terrorist related.

in liners news, we practice tonight for our big mall gig. i'm trying to get the guys to learn a few tiffany songs because everyone knows she's the original mall singer.

Saturday, November 10

man, i can't wait to hear this. i like all the people involved plus they have a winning band name. we'll see if it ever really happens though. i bet they'll have some sweet country harmonies. this article also mentions that james iha will be recording his next album soon. his debut is a favorite around my house. back to the news.

if you haven't already noticed... we added a new feature to the website today. if you click on the word "comment" at the end of each post you can leave you own comments and remarks about our dumb journal entries. or you can just read other people's comments. there will be no post peer pressure. you can come and go as you please. i think i'm rambling again.

sign me up for the elevator riding job. if rock-n-roll doesn't work out, i could ride elevators for a living. and i LOVE listening to muzac too. perfect!

Wednesday, November 7

i'm really looking forward to the debut ben kweller album next year. he's a texas kid that used to be in a band called radish. his label has posted some new songs on their site. me likey.

Tuesday, November 6

we had a good time in the studio tonight. i added some acoustic guitar and scott did some tamborine work. larry spent most of the night huddled over his 4-track recorder mixing some new home-studio songs. since he finished mixing them tonight i decided to post a sample of them here. i don't want to confuse anyone. we're currently in a real studio finishing up 4 songs we started a couple months ago. tonight i posted 2 new songs that we'd 4-tracked in my basement last week. hopefully more and more new lux music will continue to flow in the coming weeks. good night.

i just came across this site out on the web. remember adam curry from mtv in the 80's. well, now he has a weblog where's he's telling behind the scenes rock-n-roll stories. you know, the stuff that didn't make it on the air. check out adam curry's MTV Chronicles. he also has is own page at curry.com. i found both of these links at the site i've been reading lately, wilwheaton.net. he's the former child actor and star of stand by me, star trek gopher, and... well, i don' t know what he does now.

by the way, ted is the official 4th member of the lux liners and doug is the guy we've been recording with. we're headed over there again tonight to do some more studio magic. i'm going for the cher vocal effect. that and salsa beats. oh yea!

Monday, November 5

well, i finally got around to updating the site. i still have a few more things to fix and change. hope y'all like it. i moved and learned how to buy a car in october so please excuse my absence. scott on the other hand has NO excuse. today i noticed that we're playing at a nashville predators benefit thing in a few weeks. i don't really have any details about the show yet but i must wonder what kind of money the nashville predators might need. i= mean, they are an nhl hockey team. i assume we're not really raising money for them. i hope they have a dunking booth. you can make a bunch of money with one of those things.
