right now i am eating the best cookie ever. i just had to tell someone about it. it's from a coffee shop in my neighborhood called portland brew. boy is it good. chocolate chip ginger nutmeg spice. i can't believe this.

oh yea, the weezer concert was awesome. we sat with verde brian and his gang. some harding peeps were behind us. ozma sucked. saves the day was entertaining and rocking. weezer was thrilling. it was so great to see the band in person. they sounded great. the lights and smoke were awesome too. i'm working on a light show for the lux liners now. lights and smoke. that's where the real rock is.

back to my cookie.

i went to see my friends in the band jetpack play a rock show last night. it was their first time to headline this really cool club in nashville. they totally rocked the place. they played four new songs that were... awesome. "i'm alright" is the most creative song i've heard since grade school.

tonight andrea and i are going to see weezer in downtown nashville. i'm really excited. i haven't been to a real concert in a long time. i mean... i haven't been to a "non-local band show" in a while. (covering my tracks.) the jet-gang is going as well as verde brian and his gang of goofs.

tomorrow, the liners are going to be big time nashville studio cats and cut some tracks down on music row for a country demo. no, not our country demo. it's scott's wife, charlynn's, country demo. i'm ready to lay down some serious twang!

what up yo? i'm getting excited about practice tonight. sometimes i look forard to liner practice all day at work. i know, it's sad. but i do. we're working on three new songs to debut at our show next week. over bored, just to dream, and a larry song called restless.

we're also pleased to annouce that we're playing with our pals everman for the april 27th show. everman is made up of two dudes from the band jackson swing (aka sid-rich). it should be a fun night.

oh, i've got some pop culture stuff to talk about but i better get back to work. out.

paul, please come to nashville, or atlanta, or memphis, or somewhere near me. please.

oh boy. kurt cobain is back in the news. looks like an Unreleased track has surfaced. i bet this is one terrible song if they can't even mention him being on it.

happy groundhog day everybody! looks like we're in for a long winter. i once wrote a song called "long long winter." boy, it was really bad. i was trying to learn how to use a drum machine so "long winter" was my guinea pig song.

last night i wrote and recorded a song called "just to dream." wrote and recorded it in a few hours. the recording took a long time because this time i decided to record it into protools instead of my usual cheapo jam box. i'd never used protools by myself so it was a nice introduction. you can listen to the song here. it's just a demo so forgive any bad notes.

back to the original subject. speaking of groundhog day, my favorite movie ever is "groundhog day" with bill murray and andie macdowell. well, maybe it's top five now. i've been on a major wes anderson kick since seeing royal Tenenbaums. after seeing that movie i immediately went out and rented both bottlerocket and rushmore again. i love everything about those movies. the acting, writing, direction, characters, and the overall look. plus all those guys are from texas so that's always a good thing in my book. (although i wish we didn't have to claim Matthew McConaughey.)
